These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of CLIAnywhere — including our mobile applications, web application, browser extension, and companion daemon program (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
CLIAnywhere lets you access a terminal running on your own computer (Windows, macOS, or Linux) remotely from your phone or a browser. Connections are made either directly between your devices (peer-to-peer) or, when that is not possible, through our encrypted relay servers, which process data in transit only and do not store it. Terminal sessions run on your own machine; we do not operate them or see their contents.
You may register with a username and password or through a third-party sign-in provider (Google, Apple, or GitHub). You are responsible for keeping your credentials and access keys confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Specifically, you agree that you will:
You are solely responsible for any commands you run and any actions you take through terminal sessions accessed via the Services.
Some features of the Services require a paid, auto-renewable subscription. All purchases and payments are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play under their own terms; we never receive or store your payment details. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period and can be managed or cancelled at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective policies.
The free tier of our mobile app displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. By using the free tier you acknowledge that AdMob and its partners may collect the advertising identifier and diagnostic data to serve and measure ads, as described in our Privacy Policy and Google's terms. Paid subscribers see no ads.
The daemon program is installed and runs on your own machine, and its source code is publicly available on GitHub. You remain the owner of and are solely responsible for your machines, files, and everything that happens in your terminal sessions. We do not monitor, moderate, or store the content of your terminal sessions.
We aim to keep the Services available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, and we may impose or change limits (such as the number of connected machines) on any plan. Where a change is material, we will notify you through the app or by email where feasible.
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be error-free, secure, or continuously available, or that data transmitted peer-to-peer or through relay servers will never be lost or delayed.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CLIAnywhere and its suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from or related to your use of the Services. Our total aggregate liability for all claims shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months preceding the claim.
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time from the app's Settings page ("Delete Account") or via our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Services. Sections 8 and 9 survive termination.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
